Meg Keene founded A Practical Wedding as a blogspot account in her kitchen table, back when feminism wasn't a media buzzword, and no mainstream wedding magazine had ever published a LGBTQ wedding. Along with the community around APW, she's been proud to help change the dialogue on weddings over the last decade. A Practical Wedding is now in the top five online wedding publications in the world (and the only one that is woman owned). It remains laser focused on changing the tone of the wedding industry (with plenty of glitter). Meg has published two best selling wedding books: A Practical Wedding, and A Practical Wedding Planner. Meg's work has been referenced by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, Jezebel, Refinery 29, and Buzzfeed, among other publication. She manages the best, most feminist team in the world from the APW offices in East Oakland, where she lives with her husband and two tiny kids.
Post Keynote, Meg is available for 15 minute industry AMA sessions (seriously, let's discuss it all) from 2pm - 4pm. While she's ready and willing to talk shop about any and everything industry and business related, she'd particularly love to help you out with: diversifying your client base, advertising strategies that work for you, what it takes to get your work published, and tweaking your business model to make you more dollars (and more happy).
